Good morning, Pompey!

It’s another Thursday of what has been a properly hot week, I reckon you could easily have fried an egg on the pavement, if you fancied it. Driving down to the big Tesco for the weekly shop with hands on a hot steering and sat on a hot seat wasn’t exactly fun… but clearly, summer is not finished with us yet.

In this week’s news:

It’s been a mixed start to the season for the mighty Pompey! We started the season with a brilliant away win at Oxford thanks to Adrian Segegic’s goal, but followed it up with a boring loss to Reading at Fratton Park. In our defense, while a deep cup run would’ve been nice, the league is and always will be a priority, so the multiple changes to the team meant we got dumped out early. Hopefully, we have a much better league season!

The Ocean Race finally starts today, with an opening ceremony at 5:30pm at the Ocean Live Park at Gunwharf, and multiple events for the rest of the weekend leading up to the race itself on Sunday. If you attend any of the events, do send us pictures and tag us on socials.

In less exciting news, the City Council has asked for patience and apologised for missed bin collections on several streets, blaming ‘ongoing resourcing issues’. If your rubbish is still waiting at the kerb, hang tight, they say it should all be sorted soon.
