Good morning, Pompey!
It’s yet another Thursday! Heritage Open Days are full on this week, your Park & Ride trips are about to cost you a bit more for the first time in ten years, and there’s a Recovery Walk happening tomorrow that’s well worth supporting. Plus it’s the derby weekend (play up Pompey!) All to say we have lots for you this week, make sure you get out and experience everything Pompey has to offer!

In the news this week:
The City Council is working with the Isle of Wight and Southampton to support residents into meaningful employment and to tackle economic inactivity. This joint effort under the Connect to Work programme is expected to bring arond 11.5m ti the area and will focus on residents with health conditions and complex barriers to employment. Park & Ride has announced its first price increase since 2014. A day pass is now £5, and £7 with a Hoverbus addon. £10 trip flexipass is now £35, while £20 and £50 trips are now £60 and £145 respectively.
The City Council, in partnership with chargepoint operator Zest, is installing brand-new EV chargepoints, with over 150 already live on lampposts and bollards throughout the city. There may be one coming up on your street soon!
The B.More group has organised the first Portsmouth Recovery Walk for tomorrow, Friday the 12th, and it will go from South Parade Pier to Eastney. The group is made up of people in recovery to highlight that recovery from drug and alcohol dependence is possible with the right support. Meet time is 4pm at Canoe Lake, with the walk starting at 5pm and expected to last around 1 hour.
… And, it’s the derby weekend! The mighty Pompey are off to St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday to take on Southampton! If you make the trip down, send us pictures, we’ll feature you in the next issue!
